Anaerobic Digestion
Lisep - Liquid solid separation in Anaerobic Digestion and Biogas Plants
Within anaerobic digestion and biogas plants, the Haigh Lisep unit consists of a centrifugal dewaterer, removing particles down below 2mm from the process digestate. The remaining solids are fed into an integrated compaction auger which mechanically squeezes the remaining liquid from the solid resulting in an output with up to 40% dry solids content. The liquid portion can then be stored or pumped without risk of blocking pumps or excess solids settling out over time.
The liquid output is an ideal crop fertiliser or for use in any other application where a nutrient rich source is required. The solids are typically used for composting, or where this is not an option due to the digester feed stock, recycling or disposal. As the solids have been compacted, transportation costs are kept to an absolute minimum, making this unit highly cost effective.
