Earlier this month, Haigh Engineering invited Hereford Agriculture Club to come along to site to learn more about the way in which AD technology could support their day to day farming activities. There is little doubt that AD presents an exciting opportunity for the UK’s farming community, and, whilst widely accepted and used within Europe, the practice is still at relative infancy stage within some parts of the UK.

Around 30 Herefordshire Farmers came along to the event which was held at Haigh’s headquarters in Ross on Wye. David Brown, Manufacturing Manager, gave a short welcome and introduction to the business. From there attendees received two presentations: one on Anaerobic Digestion by Will Llewellyn from Evergreen Gas – a Ludlow based Anaerobic Digestion technology provider; and the second on Haigh’s range of AD products – the Pipeliner Macerator and LISEP liquid separator. Martyn Davies, Technical Sales Engineer at Haigh said of the event "This was a superb opportunity for our visitors to see and learn, first hand, of the benefits of AD schemes. It was also a great platform for us as a business to listen to the needs of the farming community to better understand how we, as manufacturers, can assist in making AD a realistic option.

Following a full factory and site tour, Phil Watkins, the Chairman of the Hereford Agriculture Club commented that he was ‘very impressed’ with Haigh’s facilities and the visit’s content.

David Freeman, Division Manager went on to say “This is the first event of its kind that we have run and we are delighted with the feedback that we have had. We see Open Days such as this as a really positive step forward for all concerned – enabling shared dialogue with end users and supporting our commitment to continuous improvement.”
